The not-so-secret ingredients

Your privacy.
Plain and simple.

We believe trust should be as clear as our flavor notes. Here’s what this website remembers, why it remembers it, and how you stay in control.

Privacy & cookie policyLast updated:

01. About this website

Petal & Pop is a fictional candy brand and a demonstration storefront. This policy describes only this static website. Products, images, recipes, prices, and contact details are illustrative. The site does not sell products, accept payments, arrange deliveries, create accounts, or operate a mailing list.

For the purposes of this demonstration, the site is presented under the Petal & Pop name. The sample contact address is 7426 Marigold Lane, Suite 214, Portland, OR 97205, USA. The sample email is petalpop.studio.8472@gmail.com. These are not represented as the details of an operating candy business and should not be used for orders or confidential information.

02. What we store—and what we don’t

You can read the flavor collection and this policy without accepting optional storage. The interactive tasting-box planner keeps your selected flavor identifiers and quantities in your browser’s memory while you use it.

  • Your privacy choice: whether optional preference storage is allowed, together with the date of that choice.
  • Your tasting box, only with permission: the selected flavor identifiers and quantities. The list contains no name, email address, payment details, or delivery address.

We do not ask you to submit personal information through this site. There are no contact forms, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, social-media trackers, or remarketing tags. Fonts, images, jQuery, and other site assets are served with the website rather than requested from a third-party CDN.

A hosting provider may independently keep standard technical access logs, such as IP address, requested URL, and request time, for security and operation. This front-end website does not control those logs. The actual host’s retention practices and privacy notice must be reviewed before a public launch.

03. Cookies & local storage

Cookies are small text files saved by your browser. This site uses only the first-party cookies listed below. It also explains when browser local storage is used as an equivalent fallback.

These cookies are associated with the website address you visit and are not intended to follow you to other websites. On HTTPS, cookies are marked Secure; they use SameSite=Lax and the site’s root path. Optional storage is not activated until you choose “Accept optional” or enable it in Cookie settings.

If cookies are blocked, the site tries local storage. If neither storage method is available, the planner still works for the current page session, but your preferences and mix cannot be remembered on your next visit. Local storage does not expire automatically in every browser, so the site checks the optional list’s timestamp and removes it after 30 days.

Change your mind, any time.

Choosing “Essential only” removes saved optional data while keeping your current in-memory mix available until you leave or reload. To remove that current mix too, use “Clear box” in the tasting planner.

04. Your choices

On your first visit, the cookie banner offers “Accept optional,” “Essential only,” and “Manage my choices.” Both acceptance and rejection are available at the same level. The banner does not prevent you from reading the site.

  • Accept optional: allows the preference storage described above.
  • Essential only: declines optional storage and removes any previously saved tasting box.
  • Manage my choices: lets you review the optional setting and save your decision.

You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer at any time. There is no penalty or loss of access for declining. You can also remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings; a new privacy choice will be requested when no valid essential record remains.

05. Downloads, email & other services

The “Download my tasting list” button creates a plain-text file directly in your browser. Your list is not uploaded to us, and no email address is required. The file stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

Email links open your own email application with a draft addressed to the sample Gmail address. You decide whether to send a message. Anything you send is handled by your email provider and the recipient’s provider under their respective policies. Please do not send payment information or other sensitive data to this demonstration address.

This site does not contain third-party advertising or embedded social-media feeds. Following an external link or using an email application takes you to a service with its own terms and privacy practices.

06. Retention & security

Cookie lifetimes are listed in the table above. Withdrawing optional permission removes the optional cookie and its local-storage fallback. An essential privacy record lasts up to 180 days so your choice can be respected. You may remove all local records through your browser’s site-data controls.

No personal or payment information is submitted through the site’s features. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and a static demonstration site is not a system for transmitting confidential information. A production deployment should use HTTPS and an appropriate hosting security review.

07. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or complain to a local privacy authority.

This demonstration site does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. It does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. The tasting-list download lets you keep a copy of the selections you made.

For a deployed version of this site, the real operator must supply verified contact details and handle applicable privacy requests. The sample contact details on this concept site are not a monitored privacy-request channel.

08. Children’s privacy

This demonstration website is intended for a general adult audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children. It has no accounts, public posting, or child-directed data-collection features. Please do not send a child’s personal information to the sample contact address.

09. Changes & contact

This notice may be updated when the website’s features or storage practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. If optional storage is used for a new purpose, a new choice should be requested before that purpose is activated.

The sample privacy contact is petalpop.studio.8472@gmail.com. Before using this design for a real business or an advertising campaign, replace the fictional business information with accurate, monitored details and review this policy against the site’s actual processing and applicable laws.
